We went to Paseo De Marianas this 1st Day of Christmas to look at the Christmas decorations there. There’s a yearly Christmas activities held in that place but we knew that’s when the biggest crowd will be seen and parking will be a great challenge so we didn’t go last December 3 and 4 to see the opening day of the Christmas Tree decoration contest and the lighting of those beautifully decorated trees.

Representatives from every private and public schools went there Dec 3 to decorate their Christmas Trees. Every ornament on the tree was made out of recycled materials. The school with the best decorated recycled tree wins! We were amazed at how wonderfully those trees turned out considering that all objects used were trashy, like tin cans, wrappers, styro-foam, bottles, , aluminum foil, and plastic materials. We even saw old modem/network card used as a Christmas ornament.

This year’s theme is “A Green Christmas for the Children of the Marianas.” Here’s my WSR Elem. School’s Christmas tree – a Ginger Bread’s House and Tree. Very nice huh!
Will we win? I’ll find out on December 18.

We wanted to take more pictures, especially pictures of every Christmas tree, but then we saw the “battey empty” signal on our camera! We left our extra batteries in the charger!
Even though our camera automatically turns off after every shot, we were still fortunate to be able to take 15 or more pictures
before it completely drained
.

hi there, it’s good that you were able to take pictures before your cam’s battery went out. Wonder how those Christmas trees would look like in daylight. Quite intriguing to know that the decorations were made of recycled materials. btw, yes..we can xlinks and you can visit my new blog for some more of my travels at http://www.maritestravels.blogspot.com
